Harbour Scene
Having been on numerous walks during the various lockdowns, most along Paignton harbour, and having seen fantastic coloured sea water on a recent holiday in Crete, I wanted to make a harbour, with glass inside to mimic the water. Here is my effort. I tried to make the bow of Fun Fish One, a brightly coloured Brixham based boat for trips, coming into the harbour, with the 'wake' from the bow acting as a plug to stop the glass overflowing.

Below: first adding clear glaze to the underglaze colours then adding the glass. I was a bit worried that the glass could burn off the underglaze colours, so added a few bits of green glass just in case. This is guesswork as to how much to put in, and can't be undone!!

The finished article
So, very pleased with the outcome, along with the fact that the melted glass has spilled out of the harbour around my initials (GP) which make it look like a buoy? This was fired on a bed of sand as recommended by Ben, so that any glass spillage would not be detrimental to the kiln shelf. The only downside is that I have used too much glass so that the boats look slightly sunk, but it is trial and error as all ceramics are!!
